Pick dinner for the evening you actually have

A “30-minute recipe” can feel very different at 7:30 on a Wednesday. Especially if the chopping hasn’t started.

    Count the prep, too.

Read for things like “finely diced” and “preheated.” A short cooking time doesn’t always mean a quick start-to-finish dinner.

  2. 02

    Keep two easy favorites.

An omelet. A pasta you know well. Save a couple of meals you’ll be happy to make when you don’t feel like choosing.

  3. 03

    Move the ambitious dinner.

Tonight’s new recipe can wait until Saturday. Change the plan in Mitt and make the meal you have time for.
