Write down the thing you’ll forget next time

A month from now, “really good” won’t tell you what you changed. A couple of details will.

  1. 01

    Write the amount.

“Half the chili, twice the lemon” gives you something to use next time. It’s especially helpful when you changed more than one ingredient.

  2. 02

    Remember the pan.

“Muffins needed five more minutes” or “used the smaller cake tin.” These are the details that disappear by the time you bake it again.

  3. 03

    Say who liked it.

“Make this when Sam comes over.” Recipe notes can help you remember the people at the table as well as what went into the food.
